SEGA is releasing another game based off the Alien movie franchise that is a survival horror stealth game that focuses on Amanda, Ellen Ripley's daughter, as she tries to find her missing mother and discovers instead an alien that found its way onto the space station.
There had been other games based off Alien before, however most of them were FPS and featured the player running around and killing multiple aliens. In this game, there is only one alien and it is unable to be killed during the game. Amanda, the daughter of Ellen Ripley, who is the protagonist in the Alien movies, is searching for her missing mother. She comes to the space station Sevastopol, only to encounter an alien that found its way onto the station.
The game is played in mostly a stealth mode as you attempt to hide from the alien. The alien's AI makes it hunt you through sight, sound, and smell and as the game progresses, the AI changes, as though the alien is actually learning from interacting and hunting you. The player has a flash light and a motion detector, but as these things both cause noise and sound, the player should only use them when strictly necessary. The player can also hide behind or inside a variety of things and there is even a button that allows Amanda to hold her breath.
The game supports platforms such as Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The planned release date is October 7, 2014.
