Elite: Dangerous, the next in a series of open world space exploration and combat by Frontier Developments, is set to be released this year.
Frontier Developments could not find a publisher for Elite: Dangerous, so they took the the project to Kickstarter and took other donations, amassing as much as £2,334,666. Now made into a multiplayer open world, in Elite: Dangerous, you start out with a bit of cash to use to start your path as either a law-abiding space trader or rule breaking pirate.
Currently, the game is not yet released and there is only a dog fighting mode for the people who backed the game. Elite: Dangerous is expected to be released sometime in 2014.
