Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall, to prepare for it's March 11th release, has now opened it's closed beta to a wider scale. All players who applied for a beta code before February 15th now have access to the game.
Respawn Entertainment has decided to break the mold of first-person multiplayer shooters by adding a twist to their new upcoming game. In Titanfall, players can play as both nimble soldiers... and powerful mecha-like walkers named Titans. Gameplay rests in your hands. If you like being speedy and quick, you could play as a soldier on the ground and try to take Titans out stealthily. If you like smashing your opponents into pieces, you could always hop into a Titan. Soldiers can speedily dash and climb walls, whereas Titans are slower, but pack more of a punch.
Titanfall is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2014, having won over 60 awards at E3 2013. Many consider it to be a new step in first-person shooters. The gaming platforms are available for only Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, with no plans for Titanfall to run on other consoles including Playstation 4.
Reviews for the game have been mostly positive. If you are curious and applied for a beta code before Feb. 15 at 4:00 p.m. PST, then you can test out the game yourself. If you didn't apply for a beta code, you can always wait to see if they make it completely open beta or when the game releases on March 11th for Windows and Xbox One and March 25th for Xbox 360.
